The Crowd Say ‘Bo’ (Sorry!)

Blue Rainbow aparthotels - BoYet another addition to Blue Rainbow’s multinational team, Bo is a relatively new arrival at our Edinburgh Aparthotels, so we’re tried to make her feel as at home as we do with our guests, so that she doesn’t head off for warmer climes once she realises how tough you have to be to handle a Scottish winter!

As nice and friendly as we have been up until now, we’ve still been unable to resist the urge to force her into one of our now famous staff profile interviews. Some of her answers are so suspiciously complimentary of us as a business, that we’re wondering whether or not a certain site manager may have tweaked some of these answers…

Anyway, let’s crack on…

Hi Bo, how’s life at Blue Rainbow Apart Hotels?

So far it’s been an amazing experience. I’m working with a team of mature, experienced and skilled professionals that look out for each other and are quick to provide support for anyone that gets stuck. Everybody here is always willing to help and that makes for a great atmosphere.

So where were you before joining us? What was your previous experience?

I’ve been here just four months, but I’ve always worked in the hotels industry. I previously worked in a two locations of a different hotel chain handling night auditing, reception and reservations. Prior to that, I graduated from NHTV, a leading Hotel Management University in the Netherlands.

So what’s your top tip to see/do in Edinburgh so far?

Edinburgh is an amazing city – very quiet and laid back, with beautiful scenery to see, particularly if you visit Calton Hill. If you are visiting in August then you MUST make a date to come and soak up the atmosphere of the world’s biggest arts festival, which runs for most of the month.

What have you enjoyed about working at Blue Rainbow?

The best thing about working here is that you have the experience of meeting all types of hotel clientele, ranging from business guests, leisure, long stays and short stays. Another thing I like is that you are given a chance to learn to deal with various situations using your own initiative. This has given me the opportunity to develop my own competency in analyzing situations and outlining achievable objectives. Also, our site manager is the best! She’s always there for everyone and treats us all fairly. (Make sure Jill gives you that fiver later Bo!)

What would you do if you were given the day off tomorrow?

If I got the day off tomorrow, I would go cycling as usual and explore more of the outskirts of the city that I’ve not yet seen and make sure I went back to work the following day feeling fit and refreshed.

Any strange guest requests/enquiries since you’ve been working at Blue Rainbow?

No, I’ve been taking everything very seriously for the short period I’ve been here and haven’t really heard anything I would consider strange or weird – maybe in the future I’ll come across something like that.

Who would be your dream guest for a Blue Rainbow stay?

Definitely one of the royal family members. It’d be good to show them the beauty, size, view and the tranquility of one of the Blue Rainbow penthouse apartments.

Thanks Bo!

As good as our penthouses are, we’re not expecting a call from the Queen any time soon (maybe Prince Harry) – but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t book your stay with us! Contact our reservations team today.
