Denise Kilmartin is the steady hand that steers the admin goings on at our our new Manchester head office (you might be able to see a bit of the new place behind her, thanks to Mr Locker‘s excellent photography skills).
When she isn’t expertly handling any guest enquiries not related to new bookings, she’s planning what to spend her hard earned paypacket on down at the Trafford Centre.
We chewed her ear for a few minutes to find out a bit more.
Hi Denise, how’s life at Blue Rainbow’s new HQ?
It’s good thank you, everything seems to be gearing up and getting ready for Christmas.
As our new admin supremo, what does a typical day consist of for you?
To be honest, no two days are ever the same for me. I’ll get involved with lots of different tasks during my day – these could vary from meeting and greeting visitors and corporate guests, to brewing up for my team (and the bosses! – Will).
Are you from Manchester originally? Any top tips on what to see/do during a stay in the city?
Yes, I’m Manchester born and bred. There is so much to do here that I’m almost spoilt for choice in what to recommend or suggest someone does during their stay. Maybe a visit to the village on Canal Street and some shopping at the Trafford Centre.
You’ve not been at Blue Rainbow long, but what’s the best thing you found about working here so far?
No, I’ve only been here for four weeks and have loved every minute of it. The best thing is definitely our friendly team, from the bosses to the people I work with every day.
What would you do if you were given the day off tomorrow?
If I was lucky enough to get that, I’d start with a nice, long lie-in, then head off to to Trafford Centre for a major shop – it’s payday tomorrow!
Have you had chance to visit the Christmas markets yet in Manchester?
No, I’ve been waiting until I was a bit more financially able to take full advantage so I’ll hopefully be visiting them in the next week.
Who would be your dream guest for a Blue Rainbow stay?
It would definitely be the comedian Alan Carr. Not only could we have a scream laughing but he likes to partake in a little ‘liquid refreshment’ like me.
