Discover Manchester Day 2011

Celebrate Manchester DayOn Sunday the 19th of June (yes, just a week and a bit away) a ‘Voyage of Discovery’ will be passing within short walking distance of our Manchester ApartHotels’ front door. The second ever Manchester Day Parade will be a special celebration of everything diverse, creative and interesting about the city, bringing together over 1,800 participants from more than 90 community and social groups from all over the city.

Celebrating the City’s Culture

Last year’s event was enjoyed by around 40,000 spectators, so the 19th promises to be a big day out, especially with further events including a giant ‘bake-off’ in St Ann’s Square and other sporting and musical entertainment. Why not come along and absorb some of the atmosphere that makes Manchester such a special city? 2011′s ‘discovery’ theme covers so much, with various creative groups taking their inspiration from exciting themes such as:

  • Manchester’s journey from village to 21st-century world-class city
  • Uncovering the story of your family, community, city, or even country
  • The future: 22nd-century Manchester. What might the city look and sound like?

With so much going on, we’re gutted we can’t go and watch for a few hours, so would you take a few pictures and show us what we’re missing? In return, we’ll make sure you come back to a spotlessly clean, luxurious serviced apartment, complete with its own comfortable lounge area and well equipped kitchen. Good deal? Go on, book your stay with the availability search calendar at the top of the page.

Alternatively, get in touch if you’ve any questions and speak to our friendly team. Find out more about the parade here.
