We know it’s only June, but there’s one big reason why August in Edinburgh is our busiest month by a (Royal) mile – the Fringe Festival! For more than 50 years, this annual celebration of the arts has attracted visitors to Scotland’s capital from all over the world. Every year, the diverse programme of international artists throws up something to suit everyone, from brand-new alternative performances to established household names. With so much happening during the festival’s three (ish) weeks – 5th to 29th – it’s no surprise that spaces to stay in the city are snapped up pretty early on.
