We are six years old today!
It’s true – exactly six years ago, we’d returned home from a weekend in sunny Manchester that had been tainted by our experience of the serviced apartment we stayed in. Both the accommodation and the staff support was pretty poor to say the least, but we can’t complain too much as this was the trigger that inspired us to establish Blue Rainbow Aparthotels in response. Considering we started up with an investment of just one Manchester apartment, the numbers of those six years since tell a pretty impressive story.
- 110 serviced apartments in Manchester and Edinburgh, with more than 40 to follow at least in the next few months
- £4million in annual turnover, built from scratch since 2005
- Over half a million guests welcomed and accommodated
Not bad, particularly when you consider all this has been achieved during a period of extreme economic instability, with no external investment.
The Magic Formula
We’ve worked hard – really hard sometimes – and made a few mistakes along the way, but the successes definitely outweigh the errors, as indicated by the numerous awards, accolades and recommendations we’ve received over the years. However, the thing we’re most proud of is also the single biggest reason we’ve been able to achieve so much – our superb staff.
As we’ve grown, we’ve got better at recruitment and been able to attract higher qualities of candidates to fill the key positions that make Blue Rainbow function so well. We’re proud to say, with sincerity, that our current team is the most professional, loyal, committed group we’ve ever had and we look forward to as many as possible joining us for the next six years and beyond.
What’s Next?
Well, since 2005, we’ve established a completely new market sector outside of London and grown exponentially in numerous ways, so to top that it’ll have to be pretty good!

Next, we’ll be moving into our fantastic new Manchester offices in a week or so, then looking forward to more launches in new cities (more info on the way) and a future filled with new faces as well the familiar ones of our fantastic team and wonderful guests.
