While our city-centre aparthotels weren’t directly affected by the recent trouble in Manchester, a small number of our guests understandably had concerns and we did feel for friends with homes and businesses in the city.
Well, this Friday (26th of Aug) it’s time to push past all the stupidity and spread the love! Across the city individuals and companies will be doing anything they can think of to show their passion for Manchester and demonstrate just how in the minority those few idiots were.
It’s part of the new ‘I Love Mcr’ campaign – set up just a few days ago (we told you about it on Facebook and on this blog) – and gathering momentum at a pace that shows the solidarity of the city’s sensible inhabitants.
What will you be doing?
The main hub of the action will be Exchange Square between 4.00 and 6.00pm, where performances, speeches and addresses will take place and stalls will sell food and drink to the gathered supporters. They’re still arranging more things, including some mass participation events, but if you’ve got any ideas on how you can show your support – from baking a cake and wearing an official T-shirt to heading down to the square and joining in – please call Marketing Manchester’s Audrey Peers on 0161 237 1010 – she wants your input!
